Therapy at Tides Counseling and Wellness is thoughtful and individualized. The approach is balanced and integrates careful listening with structured goal-setting and ongoing evaluation of progress.
Sessions are calm, focused, and intentional. Together, we examine patterns that may be contributing to stress or feeling stuck, and develop practical, sustainable strategies to support meaningful change.
Our first session is focused on understanding your story, identifying your goals, and creating a clear direction for our work together.
You should leave feeling heard, hopeful, and reassured that there is a structured plan in place.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to briefly discuss your concerns and goals for therapy.
If we decide to move forward, the initial session is 60 minutes to allow for a comprehensive assessment and treatment planning. Ongoing sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.
Tides Counseling and Wellness is a private-pay practice. This allows for personalized, high-quality care without the limitations and demands often required by insurance companies.
Tides is able to provide a Superbill for out-of-network reimbursement, which you may submit to your insurance provider depending on your benefits.
Using health insurance typically requires a mental health diagnosis in order for sessions to be reimbursed. This diagnosis becomes part of your medical record and may be accessible to insurance providers involved in health, life, or long-term care coverage.
Insurance plans may also require documentation of medical necessity and place limits on the frequency or duration of treatment.
Choosing private pay allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and individualized care without the constraints of insurance requirements.
Yes. Both in-person sessions in Massachusetts (North Shore area) and secure telehealth therapy for adults located throughout Massachusetts.
The length of therapy depends on your goals. Some clients benefit from shorter-term, focused work, while others prefer ongoing support for deeper growth and long-term change.
We’ll regularly revisit your goals to ensure therapy remains purposeful and aligned with your needs.
